START/FINISH: Two Rivers Heritage Museum; 001 – 16th Street; Washougal, Washington.
TIME: Start 9am-3pm; Finish by 6pm.
DISTANCE and RATING: 10km (6.2 miles); or 5km (3.1 miles), Rated 2.
TRAIL DESCRIPTION: This year’s route goes directly east of the museum to Kerr Park (related to the Kerr canning family), then crosses Campen Creek to offer views of Orchard Hills Golf Course and nearby neighborhoods. Return through Hathaway Park on the bluffs along the Washougal River. Route includes natural trails in the park, sidewalks and paved paths.
HERITAGE DAY: The Two Rivers Heritage Museum is holding its annual Heritage Day festival from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Enjoy an old-fashioned ice cream social, community information tables, plant sale, food and craft booths, exhibits, and other family activities. Show your start card at the Pendleton Factory Outlet store and receive a 10% discount to walkers. Raffle tickets for a Pendleton blanket throw will also be for sale, with proceeds to benefit the museum. Just in -- a Saturday Market is also new this year.
HATPIN: “B” awards and hatpins are will be available.
FEES: Everyone may walk for FREE; optional volkssport credit is $3. No refunds. Non-credit walkers are welcome to participate at no charge. Donations are accepted and help support future events. All must register, carry, and return a start card.
COMFORT: Water and restrooms at start/finish. Water only at
checkpoint. Leashed pets permitted but NOT in building(s). Owners are
responsible for leash and clean-up laws.
DIRECTIONS: From I-5 (Exit #1A) or I-205 (Exit #27), take SR-14 East to Washougal. Just past Mile Post 16, turn left at traffic light onto 15th Street. Take first right on "A" Street, then right into Pendleton Woolen Mills parking lot. Two Rivers Heritage Museum is on the west side of the lot. Volkswalk signs will be posted.

NEW WALKERS: This event is part of the AVA Achievement Awards Program. Participants can earn event and/or distance credits, then redeem completed books for a certificate, patch, and hatpin after certain milestones are reached. Special New Walker Packets, including discount coupons at a bargain price, will be available at the registration table.
ELIGIBILITY: This event is sanctioned by the American Volkssport Association, part of the International Federation of Popular Sports (IVV), and counts toward the acquisition of IVV achievement awards. Everyone is welcome to participate. Children under 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
