START/FINISH:  Washougal Community Center; 1681 C Street; Washougal, Washington 98671.

TIMES:  Start any time between 9am and 1pm; Finish by 4pm

DISTANCE and RATING:  6km and 4km, both rated 1A - Easy. Total of both loops is 10k (6.2 miles)

TRAIL DESCRIPTION:  The Washougal Arts and Cultural Alliance has collected a list of more than 25 works of public art in Washougal, most outdoors. The 6k loop visits seven of them including a large sculpture: Tayi Rock. The 4k loop visits about 20 of them including a sculpture called Golden Back Heron and several murals. You will go through three parks and part of the new Washougal Waterfront Trail with sweeping views of the Columbia River and Mt. Hood.

FEES:  AVA Credit Only is $3; AWW club members are $2. No refunds. Non-credit walkers are welcome to participate at no charge. All must register, carry, and return a start card.

COMFORTWater and restrooms at registration area and checkpoint.  Pets permitted; owners must obey all leash and clean up laws. Strollers and wheelchairs may have difficulty.

NEW WALKERS:  This event is part of the AVA's Achievement Awards Program. Participants can earn event and/or distance credits, then redeem completed books for a certificate, patch, and hatpin after certain milestones are achieved. Special New Walker Packets, including discount coupons at a bargain price, will be available at the registration table.

ELIGIBILITY:  This event is sanctioned by the American Volkssport Association, a member of the International Federation of Popular Sports (IVV), and counts toward the acquisition of IVV achievement awards. Everyone is welcome to participate. Children under 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

DIRECTIONSI-5:  Exit #1A. I-205: Exit #27.  Follow SR-14 East to Washougal. Just past MP16, LEFT at traffic light onto Washougal River Rd.  RIGHT on C Street to Washougal Community Center (behind the library). Parking is in a paved lot just beyond the center. One unpaved and one paved lot are also north of the center and accessed by going north (LEFT) on 16th and RIGHT on D Street. On-street parking also available.
