Burnt Bridge Creek West Walk; NW08/Y0425; January 1 - December 30, 2008;  10km, rated 2 (Easy)

    Beautiful, tree-lined west-side neighborhoods and parks. Views of Vancouver Lake lowlands. PLEASE NOTE: The city is closing our YRE part of the Burnt Bridge Creek Trail for major upgrades until the end of 2008. A new route (second half) has been done and includes Lincoln neighborhoods skirting the west side of the Burnt Bridge Creek Canyon.

    Restrooms and water at start point; limited facilities on route. Sidewalks and street surfaces. Strollers OK, some uncut curbs for wheelchairs. WSC: Nature – Parks, Trails.

Frenchman’s Bar Walk; NW08/Y1617; January 1 - December 30;
5km/6km/11km, Rated 1

Remote start. (NOTE: Parking lot gates close at dusk.) Walk on paved, ADA accessible bike paths between Vancouver Lake and Frenchman’s Bar parks, with abundant bird life and views of Cascade mountains. See the confluence of the Columbia and “Mult-no-mah” (now Willamette) Rivers, where Lewis & Clark camped and explored 200 years ago.

Park restrooms and water available in warm weather months; facilities closed in winter.  WSC:  Town & Country – Agriculture; Water – Rivers, Lakes; History – Monuments.

 

Directions to Vancouver Health & Rehab Center:  
    From I-5 heading north or south, take Exit #2 – 39th St./Hospital, two miles north of Columbia River. From both directions, turn left on 39th Street. Left on Main. Left on 33rd Street. Vancouver Health & Rehab is one block east on left side of 33rd. On-street parking only. Please do not park in their lot. C-TRAN transit Route Nos. 6 or 71.
