President’s
Corner – Jan Breneman
Well, here I am again.
Following in the footsteps of Liz Connors – and before her, Earl Bowen, I am
doing another round as AWW president. Thanks to Dick Baker for stepping up to
the Vice President’s position, and to Treasurer
I was reminded about all
the other people who have come forward in the last year to help out with
duties. Phyllis Clancy, who took on the Membership Chair.
Carol Jensen, who showed interest in developing walks, co-chaired the Columbia
Views walk with Joe Titone and the two of them are again working together on
the Prune Hill event October 17. Also
But the club is about ALL
our AWW-some members. Your ideas and input are absolutely essential to making
this a great walking club. Please feel free to contact me with any ideas you
have to keep our level of excellence high… and consider how you can also make a
difference.

From Liz Connors:
Hey club members....just
want to say THANKS for a great year of being your President. Really want to thank Jean, Jan, Daryl and
Earl for helping me this past year!! Now I want to welcome in your new
President, Jan Breneman, who has agreed to be the next President with the help
of club members to ease the load. Also
would like to THANK Dick Baker on stepping forward to be our Vice
President. Jean and Daryl agreed to take
on another year and we greatly appreciate that!! So I'll be seeing around at the meetings and
up coming walks, because again, they don't happen without the great
volunteers!!
P.S..... forgot to mention
that we are doing a Sunday, July 12 scouting hike to check out Cape Horn
trail that we will be sanctioning as a seasonal for 2010. If you care to join us.....WARNING... this
hike will be rated at least a 4 or 5.
You will need good hiking boots and poles if you have them. Poles are great for balance. I would bring plenty of water and whatever
you like to eat while hiking. Plan on a
long day, for we will be taking our sweet time and enjoying the views. We will be meeting @ 8:30 in the Pendleton
Mills parking lot in Washougal. If you
have any questions, please email or call me.
Thanks Liz. 360-798-6956 or takeahike68@yahoo.com
